To design and build a new and modern web presence for a public house under large redevelopment and re-branding. The site needed to be an easily maintainable platform which all members of staff, from owners and managers, to pub staff, could all easily update.
Warham Three Horseshoes
Our mission / brief
The Warham Three Horseshoes is an old local pub with a lot of history, and therefore needs to keep its traditional pub atmosphere. With this in mind, both the new owners, and Spicerack wanted to keep the traditional cosy local pub feel when designing the site. We set out wire-framing and designing a clean yet visually appealing site, with the goal being for users to easily navigate to all key information in a single click. The aim was to use large stunning photography throughout the site, to give the users a true feel of the newly renovated pub, but also of the local area and its surroundings to encourage visitors to the area.
We worked closely with the new owners of the pub to design and develop a simple, easy to navigate, visually impressive website, which didn’t move away from the pubs traditional feel. We built a fully responsive website that is fully customisable and maintainable using WordPress CMS with Visual Composer. We also incorporated an events management system which staff members can easily update on a regular basis.
In making the website simple to navigate, we took into consideration one of the key bits of information most customers visit any restaurant or pub website for, and this is for contact details and finding out the location of an establishment. We felt this information needed to be on hand at all times across the site, and saw it just as important as a primary navigation item, therefore we build a quick contact full screen takeover feature that consisted of all of the key information, from post code to food serving times.

The first iteration of the site has proven popular with both staff and customers, with both complimenting its simplicity and ease to use. Staff have continued to maintain the site by updating menu items and events, which have proven successful. The site has already gained over 150 signups in its short spell live, showing there is growing interest around the pub. We will soon be expanding the site with a room booking system where users will be able to reserve and pay for their stay through the website.
